"Like Oberon's meadows her garden is

Drowsy from dawn to dusk with bees–

And all she has is all she needs–

A poor Old Widow in her weeds."

– Walter de la Mare

This fanciful story bracelet depicts a moment from Walter de la Mare's children's book, Peacock Pie. It is one of a kind, hand etched with storybook thorns, swirling sky and hand written text. The luminous, bronze diarama is crowned with a solid sterling silver bumble bee, ready to take flight.

No bees were harmed in the making of this bracelet. This little creature died a quite natural death on my my back porch, after days of reveling in my lilac tree.

The cuff is one and three quarter inches wide, and is sized to suit an average wrist.

About bronze:
Bronze is a lovely alloy of copper and tin, a time-honored and favorite medium of jewelry artists and sculptors for centuries. I seal my bronze pieces with jeweler's lacquer to help preserve the finish. This seal helps protect the skin from the harmless discoloration that copper can cause in some people. If you typically experience skin discoloration from copper or bronze jewelry, I recommend you consider one of my silver pieces.
