On this day in between days
just when winter seemed it would never end
an Iris unfolded from under the snow
and gave to the world
that held within it
the sympathy of the early sun
the patience of the searching root
the kindness caught in each drop
that gives to the waiting seeds
and bulbs, shy and sleeping,
the will to awaken.
– Teresa Kiplinger
See how I translated this poem into an enameled necklace here.

My blizzard ring, "Abandoned" is available for purchase online, along with several of my other pieces, at the @metalmuseumstore website. The ring features my one-of-a-kind enameled scene of a car buried in the Ohio Blizzard of 78.
