My lightweight ‘Memoriam’ statement earrings honor the fragmented memories and objects left behind by strangers. On the front, sculpted black feathers. On the back, found photos are visible through cut out ovals.
The original poem reads:
"It is late and I've lost my way
but I will not follow the sun.
I gather light like berries,
my wayless walking
a wind in last year's leaves."
The front focals are sculpted out of lightweight polymer clay and are much lighter than they appear.
