Rise from the darkness to find you are stronger.
Each pair of my feather light "From the Ashes" earrings is one-of-a-kind and handmade. No two are alike. I create the enameled design by "painting" with powdered glass on thin steel using tiny brushes and various scraping tools. I fire the design with a torch to fuse the glass to the metal. I add the flash of gold by cutting and laying a tissue-thin piece of 24k gold foil and then firing again to fuse the gold to the glass.
I create the 14k gold filled ear wires by hand as well, using tools to form them into delicate circular closures and hammering them delicately to help them hold their minimal shape. I include a clear silicone safety stopper with these earrings to hold them securely, discreetly in place.
The earrings are approximately 1.25" long and .5" wide not including the ear wire.
Please note that, because I enamel each of these by hand, the black pattern on your earrings will look slightly different than the ones pictured in the photo.
This piece is part of my Tiny Catastrophes series, a collection of limited edition, one-of-a-kind memento mori pieces that explore the fragility of life and our desire to prevent, explain, and control the uncontrollable.
