This pendant is completely handmade. The enameled focal piece features my original one-of-a-kind glass painting of wooded path illuminated in the soft light of a full moon. I created the original one-of-a-kind glass scene using tiny brushes and scribes to "paint" with finely ground glass and water and fused it with a torch. It is about 3/4" wide, and I set in a handmade sterling silver prong setting. It is suspended alongside a smaller solid silver medallion which I etched with lines from my original poem of defiance and self-reliance, 'North for Geese':
“It is late and I've lost my way
but I will not follow the sun.”
Both elements are suspended together from a light and dainty 18” solid sterling silver rolo chain with a spring clasp, and it makes a subtle and satisfying tinkling sound when worn.

𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 Brooch in progress. Vitreous enamel; hand painted, torch fired. This is one of a series of art jewelry pieces incorporating dead, flightless, and falling birds. I designed these pieces to provoke a strong sense of compassion and charity; they are my response to a pervasive callousness, a call for empathy for others.
